Would you like to know where the most child-friendly restaurants and pubs are in the area? We have started our research and below are the results of our survey so far. 7 scores top marks for everything child welcoming. Blubeckers at Odiham is the only place with a top rating due to their indoor play area. Nice to see that everywhere is smoke-free now - a child-friendly rating on which we no longer need to report.
Take note - our ratings currently do not include food or service!

Address: Boundstone Tel: 01252 792108 Comments: This has a great outside play area and baby changing facilities. Good comprehensive menu with value for money. Adult portions are huge - starters sometimes suffice. Good place to go in the summer.
Address: Aldershot Tel: Comments: There is an indoor play area here but you have to pay extra. Loads of highchairs and a good children's menu makes it a hit for child-friendliness. We were not overly impressed with the food
Address: Elstead Tel: Comments: This is not altogether a child-friendly place just by the rating BUT our son and daughter have always been welcome, the food is spectacular and good value for money and therefore we think it is worth a mention. We take along a portable high chair. Also there is a secure garden at the back.
Address: Castle Street, Farnham Tel: Comments: Several high chairs and baby changing facilities give it a scoring. Organised parties for kids available. Nice setting.
Address: Lower Bourne Tel: Comments: No high chairs and children's menu lower the scoring here but nice safe outside bit with climbing frame and good food puts this on our recommendations. Check out their site for more details of menu and opening times: www.thespottedcowpub.com
Address: Shepherd and Flock roundabout, Farnham Tel: Comments: This has just been done out inside. Children's menu is half portions and half price of main meals. Although there is a garden here we cannot say it is child-friendly as there is little fencing to the main road.
Address: Holt Pound (on the way out to Bordon from Wrecclesham) Tel: Comments: The outside play area is top notch for the kids. Fencing all round with a very large climbing frame with slides etc. Lots of high chairs and children's menu. Unfortunately the few times we have been there there is a very long wait for food. Not good with starving little ones.
Address: Castle Street, Farnham Tel: 01252 724520 Comments: This has changed hands and re-opened as a restaurant and bar. Check out their website for a look at the menu. www.thecoachfarnham.co.uk
Address: The Borough, Farnham Tel: 01252 733688 Comments: Our son was made very welcome. Reasonably priced children's menu. Good service.
Address: West Street, Farnham Tel: Comments: A little bit further out of town on West Street this restaurant is in a lovely old building with plenty of character. Children's menu and highchairs available.
Address: West Street Tel: Comments: Good for a cup of coffee as well as lunch while out shopping, especially with baby changing facilities available.
Address: Tilford Road, Tilford Tel: 01252 792236 Comments: Recommended when the weather is good this pub has a superb secure play area with lots of seating, a children's menu and a no-smoking area inside in a lovely country setting. High chairs also available.
Address: 21 Frensham Road, Lower Bourne Tel: 01252 716395 Comments: Recommended by one of our visitors - The landlords have young children themselves and so are really welcoming. They have a cupboard of toys for all age kids, there's a children's menu and I believe a high chair. Also a garden with climbing frame and a kids table and chairs set in a little house!
Address: The Borough Farnham Tel: 01252 737849 Comments: One of our visitors says: "Our baby is nearly 9 months old and they were really helpful. We sat outside, which was lovely under huge umbrellas. They bought us a highchair (even though we had carefully improvised using two of their garden chairs!) and cooked us a small bowl of pasta too. They were very friendly and didn't seem to mind the amount of mess we made!"
Address: The Mill House, Hook Road, Odiham Tel: 01256 702953 Comments: Another top scoring eatery to try out. This place has everything including great food and a lovely setting. Recommended by one of our visitors.
Name: Zi Zi's Address: Castle Street, Farnham Tel: Comments: On the old site of Pizza Piazza this pizza, Italian chain restaurant now owns this lovely old building and its refurbishment has done it proud. Our kids were made very welcome there.
Name: Chez Gerard Address: 6/7 Castle Street, Farnham GU9 7HU Tel: 01252 721193 Comments: This used to be Cafe Uno but has now been taken over by this French chain of restaurants. It doesn't look very child-friendly from the front but we were pleasantly surprised: Very reasonable and comprehensive children's menu (£5.50), high chairs and colouring packs were provided. Children's menu stops at 5pm. Our baby was a bit tired and hungry and consequently badly behaved - they took it really well under the circumstances!
Name: Slug and Lettuce Address: East Street, Farnham GU9 7HU Tel: 01252 721193 Comments: Very pleasant decor inside. They have crayon club on a Sunday from 11am-1pm where they provide crayons, a puzzle and colouring sheet and a free goodie bag. Good comprehensive Kid's menu and discounts for this time on Sunday. Popular place for families on a Saturdays as well.
Address: Frensham Road, Frensham GU10 3DJ Tel: 01252 797360 Comments: Suggested by one of our visitors: Great cafe/restaurant. Very friendly and helpful. Good place to meet for coffee/lunch with babies/little one's. Spacious and boxes of toys available. Changing mat for babies. Good parking facilities. Close to Frensham Ponds for walks.
